Our friend Chris Bowlin has entered the Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom for the last 5 years. Last year he had to stand on the sidelines and watch because his severely broken leg was still healing. He made up for lost time. Yesterday he was recognized for his hard work and talent in pursuing his passion. He placed 2nd in the race and won one of the coveted duct-tape trophies and $1000 worth of swag, including a snowboard!

For snowboarders and skiers around the globe January is downright crazy. From pow turns and park sessions to competitions and biz time at SIA, January may be the busiest social month of the year for the snow industry. Film crews are at it again, retailers are pedaling out the product, and if all goes well the snow is puking. ALLY will be there, come give the fist a bump.

This Friday all of you in LA or OC should head up/down to the Newport Beach Film Festival and catch "Let it Ride" on the big screen. The film's director, Jacques Russo, and I will be hanging out and toasting Craig with some of the snowboard luminaries featured in the film. The movie screens this Friday, April 20th, at 5:30pm -- which means the afterparty should get going at about 7:15pm. Location is the Cannery, which is walking distance from the theatre (and a great place for dinner). If you're looking for end-of-season-pow-Karma there could no better choice than attending this screening...Kelly
